Speaking of which, this city is quite busy in December due to the festival seasons of Christmas and the New Year.

Anyway, don’t let this busy vibe scare you—it’s part of the fun.

Moving on, as for your first day, we will be taking you at a slow pace. 

Whereas you can start with breakfast at The Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct. It’s actually a little area with cafes, shops, and restaurants. 

So, you can grab a coffee and something to eat while having some quality time after the flight hours you’ve been through.

With that, once you’re fueled up, head to Galle Face Green.

Then, as the time passes, check out Gangaramaya Temple around the afternoon. 

It’s a beautiful Buddhist temple with historical carvings and religious vibes. 

On the other hand, even if you’re not religious, it’s a peaceful place to just relax your mind and forget about everything for a moment.

With that being said, as you come to the second day in Sri Lanka, you can start your day by going for a morning shopping at local markets like Pettah. 

Trust us, the shopping complex is huge in the best way possible whereas you got spices, fabrics, jewelry, electronic items, clothing and many more for a cheap price. 

Days 3-5: Mirissa/Weligama

After Colombo, it’s time to head south to Mirissa and Weligama. 

Speaking of which, these two beach towns are about an hour apart, but they’re often visited together because those places give out different vibes. 

Whereas Mirissa is quite peaceful and touristy, while Weligama is a place where you can chill out and hang out with locals more often.

Plus, the drive itself is actually perfect since you will be able to see different kinds of natural spots that will fascinate you. 

In fact, you’ll pass green fields, palm trees, and maybe even some monkeys. So, get your camera ready for it! 

Anyway, once you arrive, settle into your accommodation. 

There are plenty of guesthouses and hotels right by the beach. That you can wake up to the sound of waves.

Afterward, you can grab lunch at one of the many rooftop restaurants inside the fort. Trust us; the views of the ocean are unbeatable.

With that being said, on your second day, take a tuk-tuk ride to Jungle Beach.
